12 June, 2024 BBKA broadcast message to members. We have heard from many beekeepers that they have inspected colonies recently which are at major risk of starvation. We would like to encourage all associations to advise their members to take extra care when checking colonies that sufficient stores are available for the bees and to be prepared to feed if necessary.

20 May, 2024 EFB – a local report. Of great concern . . . A hive with EFB has been confirmed in Winchester. “Beekeepers are legally obligated to report any suspected diseased colonies under the Bee Diseases and Pests Control Order 2006 (as amended).” Click here for information to identify European Foulbrood and other diseases.
