1. BBKA Basic Beekeeping Assessment. This is essentially a practical assessment and takes about an hour for people who have been keeping bees at least a year. Broadly 30 mins of questions and 30 mins for your practical. The syllabus can be found on BBKA website or click here. You need to register with BBKA and pay in January/February. Please contact Louise on Louisewithbees@gmail.com to declare your interest and to make arrangements for the practical assessment.
2. Would you like a refresher course before you take the assessment? Louise runs one in April. Please book with Louise . Louisewithbees@gmail.com. Having your basic assessment reassures you that you know what you are doing, allows you to begin taking modules if you wish, gives BBKA evidence that beekeepers have basic competence.
3. Have you been keeping bees for 5 years? Would you like to take the health assessments? Would you like a revision course ( 5 x 2 hr sessions) ? Please let Louise know. Syllabus available on BBKA website
